In a recent survey by realtor magazine, some of the prominent priority features millennials look for when purchasing a home are outdoor spaces and large kitchens. Additionally, millennials look for multifunctional spaces and modern amenities.

Outdoor spaces

Atlanta millennials value low-maintenance outdoor spaces both at home and in shared communities.

Make sure outdoor spaces are a highlighted priority when selling your home. For example, if you live close to Piedmont Park and the Beltline, then emphasize this. Or, if you’re in a condo and have shared outdoor space, then highlight this as well.

Ensure you declutter and clean the space for your home outdoor areas, such as a patio or yard. If you have landscaping, then take some time to groom it to remove weeds and dead material.

Stage outdoor areas with a neutral and inviting decor. Set the scene for how a potential buyer could utilize the space. Is it great for entertaining? Then highlight that.

Multifunctional spaces

Open mixed-use spaces are trendy among Atlanta millennials and have become more popular during the pandemic. Think of multifunctional space as a place to entertain, have a home workout area, and have a home office. 

If you have an ideal mixed-use space that transitions easily, make sure you highlight it appropriately. 

If you have an open space but don’t currently use it in multiple ways, consider thinking about the other ways you could use the area. Showcase to buyers how you use it.

According to a survey done by the National Association of Home Builders, the top five amenities that Millennials value are laundry rooms, hardwood floors, patio, garage storage, and a walk-in pantry. 

By knowing what amenities buyers are looking for, you can emphasize these or stage them for potential buyers.

If you have some of these top amenities, show buyers how the space is best used. For example, garage storage, show your storage neatly organized on shelves. 

Lastly, for amenities, don’t forget technology. Connected modern homes are becoming more popular, and you should make sure you highlight any modern technology you’ve installed.
